Brand Deals

As your social media following grows, you may start to gain motivation to use your following to influence and promote! There are many opportunities out there to have paid partnerships or product partnerships, even for content creators in the adult industry. In this article we will talk about how to find and conduct these opportunities in the right way.

Step 1: Evaluate

  • Look at Your Audience
    • Take a look at your followers and demographic. What are their likes and interests? What types of promotion do you think they would be interested in?
  • Consider Your Brand
    • Remember that this is YOUR brand, so you want to align with companies that you truly believe in or could see yourself partnering with that would make sense with your image.
  • Determine Your Goals
    • Write our what it is you would like to achieve with your pages and how other brands will correlate with that. You can even write out the types of partnerships you are interested in having!
  • Check Out Your Engagement
    • This is the first thing a brand will do when they check out your page, so measure your engagement and see where you’re at. A good engagement rate is between 1% and 3.5%.

How to Calculate Engagement

The engagement rate is calculated as the total number of interactions your content receives divided by your total number of followers, multiplied by 100%. It’s super simple to calculate!

Step 2: Make a List

Now that you have idenitfied your partnership desires and determined your engagement, it is time to make a list of the brands you would like to reach out to for potential partnership. Create a document and do some reasearch on what brands you have an interest in working with! Don’t hold back! The worst answer you can get is “not right now” so if there is a huge brand you would love to work with, put yourself out there! It is better for them to remember your name for future partnerships than to never know who you were.

Types of Brands to Consider

  • Sex Toy Brands
  • Lingerie Companies
  • Health & Wellness
  • Sex Education Brands
  • Gaming Companies
  • Bondage Products
  • Adult Websites
  • Fan Sites
  • Start-Up Adult Brands
  • Sex Worker Organizations
  • Dance-wear Companies
  • Swimsuit Brands

Step 3: Create a Media Kit

Once you start reaching out to brands and get a response, they are likely to ask to see a media kit from you. This is a PDF that gives a little background to who you are and what your social brand is. You will also include your followers, reach, impressions and engagement information on this. You can easily make this through Canva as there are tons of templates! Take a look at examples of other content creators’ media kits to get inspiration!

Step 4: Start Messaging!

Now it is time to start messaging your brands! Once you have the list of brands you are planning to work with, you can start by sending a general message to each of them! This can be done through DM or email. Personally I think DM is the best route to go as brands are constantly checking for messages from potential partners. Below is an example of a general message you can send to each brand:

Dear [brand name]

My name is [your name] and I am a huge fan of your products. I’ve been following [brand] for a long time, and I love all the work you do.

I am a content creator in the [industry] and have some highly-followed [social media accounts with links].

My audience is highly engaged, and I believe it’s the perfect demographic for your business to reach. Your brand will certainly resonate with my followers, and I can personally vouch for the quality of the products.

If you’d like to speak more about this opportunity then please reply to this email and we can discuss it further.

Many Thanks!

[your name]

Step 5: Know Your Worth

Once you start to hear back from brands they will begin making offers with you. These offers can ranche from payment for posting, creating content for their platforms, product for post or even eventually brand events or trips. But YOU only have to accept what you want! If you feel a brand is lowballing you or not offering enough, it is okay to ask for more or say no! You determine what you are willing to work and create for, you are the talent and you are in control! Once those details are settled, you will likely sign a contract with a content deadline and conformation of payment and you can begin your partnership!

Remember that you are worthy of brand deals and partnerships no matter what industry you work in! There are opportunities for everyone if you put in the work to find them! Good luck!
