Being a content creator and sex worker is a job that typically involves only working from home. This can make it difficult sometimes to separate your work space and home space. There are a lot of distractions and sometimes it can simply just be hard to find that motivation to keep working. In this article, are going to talk about how to create a successful workday from your house!
Setting Up Your Space
When you work from home it is extremely important to create a space for work that is SEPARATE from your other “hang” spots in your home. If you have a separate room or space that you are able to turn into your office/cam room, take advantage of it! Not to worry if you do not, a lot of us just work in our bedrooms so try to take a wall or a corner of your room that you can dedicate to being your workspace!
Take the time to decorate your space! Make your area a place you are excited to work every day, somewhere that makes you feel good and motivates you. Remember this is YOUR space! Make it something you’re content being in every day. Add decor, comfortable furniture, a desk, lighting and anything else required to set you up for a successful work setting.
Where to Shop
Decorating can seem like a difficult and somewhat expensive task, but you do not have to break the bank to make a really great space that makes you feel good!
Here are some stores that offer affordable furniture and decor:
- Ikea
- Five Below
- Living Spaces
- Dollar Tree
- Wayfair
- Home Goods
- Walmart
- Target
- Amazon
Get what you need and get creative , you can make your space beautiful and you do not have to spend a lot of money to do it! I recommend looking at inspiration on websites like Pinterest to get some good ideas for your own space.
Create Target Goals for Your Day/Week
Make yourself goals either weekly or daily. WRITE THEM DOWN! You can create them into a checklist or use one of the goal sheets we have created to keep track. You can create short term and long term goals! The purpose of doing this is so you can see how much you actually accomplish in a day! Sometimes it can be hard to acknowledge and remember how much you truly do in a day, so keep track of it. And most importantly, do not forget to celebrate those wins! It could be as simple as having a goal to get 3 videos edited, just write it out and root yourself on!
Make Yourself a Schedule
Just as you make schedules for when you hop on cam, make a schedule for your entire work day! This is important because if you don’t have a hard start and stop time, you’re going to have a difficult time separating work from home. Remember, taking breaks is important and encouraged! If you are working a long day, breaks are very important. Take time in between your day to get some fresh air, go on a walk, call a friend to laugh, stretch or whatever else helps you have a moment to decompress! If you plan on working a full workday, give yourself 30min-1hour throughout your workday (depending on how long you’re working) to have a meal and reset. It’s imporatnt to fuel yourself!
Post-Work Life
Save the things you have or want to do outside of work for AFTER work. This will give you that sense of balance so you have things to look forward to after work, instead of trying to cram them in while you are completing your workday as well.
Treat Yourself!
At the end of your workday, decompress in your other spaces and do something kind for yourself! Take a bath, make yourself dinner, watch a movie, hang with friends or loved ones. Step away from your work environment!
Remember, especially when working from home, your work life and home life should be separate entities. You deserve to give yourself the balance, be kind to yourself and create the separation between the two.
Leave a comment with a photo of your workspace or cam room!
